THE FAIRY
This piece was a happy accident and an intent at something more delicate and slightly dainty. I don’t often make pieces like this but I had the vision to put a beautiful clear Colombian Quartz with this absolutely stunningly vibrant Australian Azurite. It turned out to be a dainty, fairy like piece.
Swirls were a constant symbol for me in South America and have been incorporated into a few of my pieces. In different cultures they represent different things, in Incan culture specifically they can represent cyclical time, cosmic energy, and connection to Mother Earth (Pachamama).
They reflect the continuous flow of life, transformation, and spiritual growth rather than a straight line, I think that is so beautiful, and even more special to have sitting close to you on your chest.
Designed to sit on the collarbone, choker portion measures 6.5cm across with 4 spirals measuring 1cm in diameter.
Azurite stone measuring 2cm x 4cm, Quartz measures 3cm x 0.5cm with whole pendant portion measuring 8cm long.
Length from top to base of the necklace, measures approximately 9.5cm.
Chain measures 30cm with lobster clasp and loop closure (option to extend necklace with 4 extra loops, 0.5cm in diameter.)
Necklace is fabricated from sterling silver and fitted with Azurite and Quartz.
